53. MISTER RUST Nightmare, Fury
Anton Rustoffsky hated the City from the first day he arrived as a young immigrant from Eastern Europe. He loved playing in the forests and green fields as a child, and found the concrete canyons and asphalt, the crowds and pollution, to be unbearably oppressive. Unfortunately, as a poor immigrant, he couldn't afford to move to the green countryside- at least not at first. Rustoffsky spent the rest of his lift trying to escape the City, but the malign lifeforce of the City delighted in tormenting him. When he saved up enough money under his mattress to move to the country, his apartment was destroyed by an electrical fire. When he bought a car to try his luck in another town, it was carjacked the next day. After decades of his every escape attempt being thwarted, Rustoffsky, now an old man, booked himself into an assisted living community outside the city. On the day he was to catch a bus out of the City forever, the City played it's final trick on Rustoffsky: the crumbling building in which he had lived for the last several miserable years collapsed, killing Rustoffsky and burying his body forever under the rubble. A lifetime's worth of hatred would not be silenced, however, and Rustoffsky's rage at the City formed an avatar intent on destroying the City and everyone in it. The miniature of this monster would be a skeletal figure composed of rust.
