32. OUTER ONE Alien, Cthulhu
I didn't like the take on Mi-go from The Lab, so I wanted to take another stab at one of HPL's most unique creations (in the story, they are only referred to as "Mi-go" once; usually they are called Outer Ones, in reference to originating outside our solar system). First, the "unique" status has to go- The Whisperer In Darkness makes it clear that there are legions of the monstrous fungi-creatures haunting dark corners of our globe. Secondly, Flying movement is inappropriate- their membranous wings are intended for flying in the vacuum of space; they are very awkward in Earth's gravity (it is only with difficulty that one of them makes it onto the roof of a house in the story). Hence, I think a single click of Leap/Climb would be more appropriate. Finally, the visual depiction must be changed. I suspect that the figure from The Lab was originally intended to serve as an armature for a completely different monster, as it bears almost no resemblance to the creatures as described: multi-limbed semi-crusteaceans, with oval heads bristling with small antenae and multiple fin-like wings.

*Give this character a close combat action. It makes two separate close combat attacks as free actions (making two separate attack rolls) against one or two adjacent targets. Resolve the first attack before making the second. If this character loses this ability before it makes the second attack, it can’t make the second attack.
