46. RAKSHASA Hellspawn, Occultist, Faerie
These much-feared demonic beings, skilled in both magic and hand-to-hand combat, originate in Indian mythology, but many folktales involving these monsters have spread throughout Asia. The rakshasa would have a "flippable" card, with magical powers on one side and martial powers on the other. Legends say that a rakshasa never appears in the same form twice, so there is no limit as to how to depict it; I'm thinking of a richly robed humanoid with the face of a green orangutan with upward-curving tusks, wielding an exotic-looking polearm.
